THE WET WALKS WILL RESUME MID-AUGUST 2026
Don’t miss out on a unique experience. Get up close and personal, and experience the beautiful wetlands in new and surprising ways. Led by trained guides, these walks follow a restricted, water-filled, sinuous trail amidst thick green ferns, towering cypress, and chattering woodpeckers.

Last wet walk season, Gulf Coast/NBC Meteorologist Jason Dunning, joined Friends wet walk guides and Friends board members David Minnick and Sabine Vandenhende for a walk through the Slough waters. Here is his Slough wet walk broadcast.
In 2024, ABC7 Meteorologist Jesslyn Ferentz joined the Friends of Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve on a wet walk in the Slough. Guide David Minnick and recent Friends President Sabine Vandenhende shared the beauty and importance of this natural place with her and other adventurers.
